COURSE DESCRIPTION
This four-week course presents an overview of the Old Testament. The goal of this course is to introduce students to fundamentals of the Bible with a special emphasis on the Old Testament and how it pre-figures the New Testament. The Old Testament is God’s revealing/unveiling of Himself to His people (including you and me) and is venerated as God’s Word. The Bible tells the story of God’s saving love for His people and prepares us for the coming of Christ (the fullness of the revelation of God). We believe the New Testament lies hidden in the Old and the Old Testament is revealed in the New.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- understand general elements of the Bible
- identify major time periods in the Old Testament
- discuss important people in the Old Testament
- explain key events in the Old Testament
